William (Bill) Tyson, Associate Professor Emeritus of Legal Studies and Business Ethics at Wharton, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013.
He was an award-winning teacher whose research interests included corporate law, international busness transactions, real estate financing and development, Russian law, securities regulation, and taxation. Throughout his life, Professor Tyson used his litigation skills to ensure justice. He devoted a great deal of time to pro bono work with urban youth in the criminal justice system. He also served as an advocate for students in Penn's judicial system.
Bill will be missed by his collegues and students, both within Wharton and at Penn's Law School where he taught throughout his appointment.
