Ryan Burg is a Ph.D. candidate in Business Ethics and Sociology at The University of Pennsylvania. His research explores the career trajectories and experiences of employees who have been displaced from work by failing firms. Ryan’s research utilizes survey-based social network analysis and qualitative research methods. His dissertation, Inter-Organizational Continuity: The finality of failure and the novelty of newness, attempts to understand how individuals who lose their jobs go on to make use of organizationally embedded skills, networks and routines in entrepreneurial and established firms.
